Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) Certification Scheme · Ministry of MSME

ZED Certification proves your manufacturing business produces "Zero Defect" products with "Zero Environmental Effect." Government subsidises 50–80% of certification costs. ZED-certified businesses get preference in government procurement, better access to export markets, and improved bank credit ratings.

📋 Eligibility Criteria

• Manufacturing MSME with Udyam Registration
• Business must have been in operation for at least 1 year
• Willing to undergo ZED assessment and implement improvements
• Manufacturing sector only (not service)

   Self-assessment questionnaire — understand your current quality level

3. 3

   Third-party assessor visits for on-site evaluation

4. 4

   ZED rating assigned: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum

5. 5

   Apply for subsidy on certification cost via portal

6. 6

   Upgrade from lower to higher rating over time
